    • Becca says:

Agreed. She works her butt off for her community and provides so many great opportunities for aspiring writers. Go, MSFV!

(Bonus to this list: There are several more writing blogs I now know to explore.)

  23. Chris Bails says:

Mysti’s Unwritten blog is definately the best. Great author and great blogger.

  24. Ann Calhoun says:

As a non-book-writer, as an “outsider” interested in the publishing world, I’ve found Anne Allen’s blog tremendously informative (and witty) and a must read to keep up with all the changes going on now in “Book World.”

  25. Bluestalking says:

May I say the best part of all this is finding great new blogs to read! You’re all so inspirational. I’m humbled to have even been nominated and it’s just fun coming here to check the numbers. And, Miss Snark, I do love your blog, too!

  26. Laura C. says:

Miss Snark’s First Victim is incredibly helpful and well-written. I’ve learned a lot from my own experiences with her fabulous Secret Agent contests, and reading others’ entries has helped, too.

But you forgot another very helpful site:
    http://thebookshelfmuse.blogspot.com/

  27. Lorraine says:

I adore Miss Snark’s First Victim!! She offers so many ways to help us struggling writers!!!

  28. Robbin says:

Miss Snark’s first Victim Blog is my top pick. Authoress got it right! You get to jump right in and enjoy the community—professional, personal, and inspiring. It’s fun, it’s interesting, and it’s important.

  29. I’ve found Miss Snark’s First Victim site the most fun to read and the most exciting writing related blog in the universe, well at least on this planet. Keep up the great work !!

  30. Nora Weston says:

Hi, Mysti! Unwritten is a fabulous blog. :) Hope it wins!

  31. Karen Duvall says:

Miss Snark’s First Victim is the best writers’ blog ever!

  32. PaSsu says:

Rachna’s Scriptorium is making a difference in the lives of Bhutanese writers. The Author is the only known outsider who selflessly communicates with the writers in Bhutan through her Blog and Facebook. She deserves to be voted as the best writing blog.

  33. Anthony V. Toscano says:

The fact that a person can vote many times over makes this poll a difficult one to describe as “serious.”

    • brittanyb says:

As this is the first time we’ve opened voting to the public for one of our awards, we’re still ironing out the kinks! Thanks for your input.

    • Donna Newton says:

      Anthony,

I am up for an award and totally agree. I have exhasted social media so everyone knows to vote. I had no idea my blog had so many ‘fans’. I can only assume they are voting more than once….however, like you, I don’t think this is fair or the right way to go. I vote per fan.

      Donna xx

  34. Big shout out for Janice Horton – love her blog and she’s a fabulous author! Great to see she’s made this list.

  35. slamdunk says:

Clever idea. Looks like you have some good ones. Best wishes to the competitors.

  36. Meeta Khanna says:

Great idea, but I do not like the idea that we can vote more than once. What if the contestants are voting again and again for themselves. Where is the ethics in that? There should be a fair way to vote. Blogs with more followers will definitely garner more vote.

  37. David King says:

consistently high standard of posts on topics of interest and importance to writers and would-be writers.

  38. Dan says:

I agree that voting more than once makes this seem not “fair.” One vote per fan would really give the true top award. A few people definitely are racking up points quickly – like VERY quickly. What is your secret?

  39. Sheela C says:

I think the students should have voted for the blogs. Voting more than once can bring down the seriousness of the entire method.

  40. Ann Calhoun says:

Hafta agree. If you’re going to try to end up with a vaguely “fair” poll, it needs to be One Vote Per Person. Too easy to game the system otherwise.

  41. Leigh Moore says:

If this is legit, MSFV helped me get my agent. And her ability to help real writers get feedback from real agents is invaluable. You geaux, girl~ :o ) <3

  42. David Powers King and Alex J. Cavanaugh are both awesome
    Good luck you guys :)

  43. Alison Pensy says:

I vote for Anne R Allen’s blog. It’s very helpful and she has great guest bloggers too.

  44. Sara Hampton says:

My vote is for Mysti Parker’s Unwritten. She is a wonderful blogger with a terrific sense of humor and a lot of helpful knowledge.

  45. Mysti Parker says:

    Is the voting page broken?

  46. Susan James says:

Authoress! Along with the fab crits and contests, her SA archives are a treasure hold for querying writers.

  47. Jaana says:

Just love Helena’s London Life, well written reflections both from Finnish and English perspective.

  48. Jaana says:

Helena’s London life is a fantastic read, highly recommended.

  49. Kaye Manro says:

This is such a great idea! I hope everyone is a winner!

  50. Thanks a bunch Alison! We have been really lucky with our fantastic guests.
